MeT predicts light rainfall for three days from May 29 in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 27 (KNO): Jammu, the winter capital of the Union Territory on Wednesday recorded season’s hottest day while as the local Meteorological department has predicted light rainfall across the Valley from Friday (May 29) afternoon. Deputy Director MeT, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Khan told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Jammu has recorded this season highest temperature at 42.7 degree Celsius. He added that Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded temperature of 30.1 today. About the string winds in many parts of Kashmir, Ahmad said that there is possibility of strong winds in Kashmir parts tomorrow as well, adding that they are predicting string winds on Thursday afternoon as well. However, he said that the weather across the region will remain cloudy, informing that as per the prediction, there is possibility of light rainfall for three days, which will begin from May 29 evening. “The intermittent light rainfall would continue for three days from May 29 to May 31,” he said. Earlier on Tuesday, Srinagar recorded this season’s highest temperature at 31.7 degrees Celsius—(KNO)
